Vision
One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed
a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean.
Approaching the boy, he asked, "What are you doing?"
The youth replied, "Throwing starfish back into the ocean.
The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don't throw them back, they'll die."
"Son," the man said, "don't you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish?
You can't make a difference!" After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish,
and threw it back into the surf. Then, smiling at the man, he said..."
I made a difference for that one."
Once a toddler abandoned by his parents looked at us and said: "I would like at least one parent, either a mom or dad." Since then we have firmly decided: we will help these little boys and girls find parents, and adoption- will become a national tradition in the former Soviet Union. Especially since Jesus Christ himself said "Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me" (Mark 9:37 NIV).
"You will be found"- a resulting project of years of social work carried out by Christian churches and organizations. Began in the late 90's with soup kitchens and later outreach programs in orphanages, we are convinced that accepting a child into a home is the best that can be done for them. Perhaps, this is not the last year that we will serve orphans by establishing orphanages, but we hope and believe that one day because of a deeply rooted tradition of adoption, in our Slavic nations there will not be a single child, who when he wakes up in the morning will think: I don't belong and no one needs me.
